    Española Police officers, Ohkay Owingeh Tribal Police, Rio Arriba County Sheriff’s deputies or State Police responded to the following calls:

‘Methed out’ man

June 20

    7:13 a.m. An Española Hospital caller said a psychiatric patient was being disorderly, aggressive and punching at staff.

    9:43 a.m. A Private Drive 1548 in Hernandez caller reported a 34-year-old man fell and he’s in and out of consciousness.

    10:56 a.m. A Lotaburger caller said a “methed out” man is throwing water on himself and acting weird. Police determined he was just hot.

    1:37 p.m. A Hindi Lane caller said a 47-year-old woman is not responding and her lips are blue. It was determined she lost her oxygen tube.

    2:49 p.m. A Henry Valencia caller reported a woman is on the ground and says she needs help.

    4:15 p.m. A Walgreens caller requested a welfare check on a woman in the drive-thru who wasn’t speaking clearly.

    4:35 p.m. A Private Drive 1613 in Medanales caller said her boyfriend got drunk, got a gun from somewhere and shot at the house.

    6:32 p.m. A La Joya Street caller said there’s a truck parked in his yard and it’s leaking gas and has about 40 needles in the bed.

    7:10 p.m. An East Jiron Street caller requested a welfare check on a man passed out on the steps of the “scary house with lots of traffic.”

    7:18 p.m. A U.S. Highway 64/84 caller said people in a Jeep Cherokee and people in a Chevy truck were throwing beer cans at each other in what looked like a road rage incident.

    8:24 p.m. A JGN Lane caller reported a 25-year-old man overdosed. Narcan was administered.

    8:24 p.m. A Lotaburger caller said a man was strangling a woman.

    8:42 p.m. A Santa Clara Apartments caller reported a man is overdosing on heroin, CPR is in progress and two doses of Narcan were administered.

    8:54 p.m. A Speedway caller requested a welfare check on her son, who’s parked at pump #7 with another man because they’re passed out.

    10:57 p.m. A Lower San Pedro Road caller requested a welfare check on her friend who was posting pictures of herself on social media, with a bloody, busted-up face and saying if anything happened to her, let it be known that her boyfriend hits her.

June 21

    12:42 a.m. An Ohkay Casino caller reported a woman was getting money from the ATM, left for a second, then a man came and took the money.

    1:53 a.m. An Española Police officer chased a fleeing vehicle on Mountain View Street and North McCurdy Road.

    5:50 a.m. A Grove Avenue and Eighth Street in Chama caller reported the death of a 69-year-old man.

    11:46 a.m. A Dairy Queen manager said there’s a car parked close by and there are Pitbulls in it and she wants the car to leave the area because she doesn’t want them on her property.

    12:49 p.m. A heavyset man on Sunset Drive wearing a T-shirt and flip-flops was stealing mail from the mailboxes.

    3:39 p.m. A Food King caller reported a man seems to be on something and is yelling at the workers and customers.

    3:58 p.m. A U.S. Highway 64 caller said there’s several cattle on the road and it looks like someone drove through the fence and they got out.

    5:40 p.m. A Tierra Amarilla caller reported seeing a man south of Tierra Amarilla, wearing jail pants and covered in tattoos.

    5:41 p.m. A County Road 41 caller said earlier in the day, his brother and another man assaulted him and he had to go to the emergency room.

    7:03 p.m. A Food King employee reported a man is back and harassing customers and this time, he brought a buddy with him.

Scheduled shooting

June 22

    12:51 a.m. A North McCurdy Road caller said he was kidnapped from Speedway and a hood was put over his head, but he was able to get away. He didn’t want to file a report or cooperate with police.

    2:14 a.m. An Española Police officer engaged in a vehicle pursuit and saw the people in the vehicle throw bottles out of the window.

    8:27 a.m. A Private Drive 1751 in Brazos caller reported someone put water in his vehicles’ fuel tanks.

    9:41 a.m. An Alcalde Post Office caller requested a welfare check on a car parked behind St. Ann’s Church, in which the driver is passed out and not responding.

    11:13 a.m. A County Complex in Tierra Amarilla caller said someone driving in the area ran over a child’s bike. The child is OK.

    1:15 p.m. A Corlett Road caller reported finding a large gun outside of his garage.

    3:16 p.m. A Valley Drive caller reported a man who stole a package is walking down the road.

    3:36 p.m. A Speedway caller said a man asked him to call 911 because another man jumped into his vehicle and won’t get out.

    3:55 p.m. A Taco Bell caller requested a welfare check on a man and woman who appeared to be highly intoxicated.

    4:46 p.m. A man walked into the Española Police Department to file a report because his employer is threatening him.

    5:18 p.m. An RTD caller said there are some people at the bus stop by Chili’s who are being belligerent and one is drunk.

    6 p.m. An Española Hospital caller reported a man left with an IV still in place.

    7 p.m. A Walgreens caller said a man is fighting with a woman in pajama pants and he keeps grabbing and pulling her.

    5:23 p.m. A Valdez Park caller said there’s a drunk man there and his personal belongings are blowing all over the place.

    8:18 p.m. An El Rey Liquor caller reported a man on a bike got hit by an SUV.

    11:46 p.m. A Santa Clara Apartments caller said there are people in the hallway saying they’re going to shoot him at midnight.

    11:48 p.m. A County Road 50 in Velarde caller reported an 18-year-old pregnant woman is overdosing.

June 23

    5:37 a.m. An Española Hospital caller reported a trauma patient is getting belligerent and violent.

    7:09 a.m. An East Chamisa Street caller said a man is squatting by the condemned apartment building.

    9:36 a.m. An Española Hospital caller reported a woman in the trauma ward is threatening to kick the doctor in the head and is calling him names.

    11:29 a.m. A First Road in Santa Clara caller reported a brush fire outside her house.

    2:08 p.m. An Escondito Road in Chama caller reported someone stole $1,000 from him.

    3:06 p.m. A City Planning and Zoning employee said there are four squatters on a property on Fairview Lane and is requesting they be dispersed.

    3:14 p.m. A Lucero Center caller said there’s a woman in her late 70s who’s drunk and she fell on the floor and has slurred speech.

    4:32 p.m. A Zia Credit Union caller said someone has been using her credit card without her permission and she wants to speak with an officer.

    4:46 p.m. A Walmart caller said there’s a man behind the fireworks stand who is not responding and can’t stand up.

    5:23 p.m. An El Llano Road caller reported a UPS driver is cutting people off.

    6:42 p.m. A Triple S caller said a woman went into the store and asked him to call 911 because she’d been raped. She refused to be taken to the hospital.

    8 p.m. A Las Lomas apartments caller said a man has her locked in the bathroom and he has her at gunpoint.

    9:39 p.m. A Lowe’s Home Improvement caller reported several children lighting fireworks in the parking lot.

    9:47 p.m. An eight-year-old Chama caller reported her uncle threw a shoe at her and now she can’t breathe.

‘Elimination’ time

June 24

    12:04 a.m. A County Road 1 in Hernandez caller said the family of a deceased tenant is there and they aren’t supposed to be.

    6:40 a.m. A Española Elementary caller said the gym was broken into.

    11:21 a.m. A Hernandez caller reported he’s having issues because the neighbor’s dog keeps coming onto his property. He told the neighbor if the dog comes back, he’ll “eliminate” it and the neighbor told him if he does, he will “eliminate” him.

    12:48 p.m. A Montana Vista caller said a 56-year-old man has been drinking all morning and his son found him slumped over and having a difficult time breathing. One dose of Narcan was administered because he also does pills.

    2:21 p.m. A State Road 76 in Truchas caller reported her father produced a handgun and she’s not sure where he got it or whether it’s stolen.

    2:44 p.m. A County Road 155 in Abiquiú caller said there’s something in the road that he at first thought was a boulder, but it might be a body because it’s wrapped in a blanket.

    4:37 p.m. A Family Dollar caller reported a robbery. He said a man came in and showed a small handgun and took the money.

    4:51 p.m. An Abiquiú Inn caller said lightning hit a tree and it caught on fire.

    8:06 p.m. A Valdez Park caller reported a man and woman engaged in oral sex near Vanessa’s Hideaway. Police discovered the woman was unconscious but breathing and an ambulance was called. The man was arrested.

    9:37 p.m. A Velarde caller reported her 24-year-old son came home and passed out in the bathroom. It was determined he was overdosing on Zoloft.

    11:17 p.m. A Red Hawk Court caller reported a man using crutches is on the ground and yelling for help.

    11:27 p.m. A North Riverside Drive caller requested a welfare check on a 70-year-old man who’s asleep next to the ATM.

Wearing blood

June 25

    12:43 a.m. A 14-year-old girl on Bonecutter Lane threatened to kill herself after she was caught smoking marijuana and was accused of being mean to her siblings.

    3:57 a.m. A Lowe’s Home Improvement caller reported people have been caught on camera, taking plants from the garden center.

    8:58 a.m. A County Road 425 in Coyote caller reported a 72-year-old man isn’t waking up, but he’s breathing. He later died.

    10:27 a.m. A State Road 581 in La Mesilla caller said a man is harassing the workers who are paving the road.

    10:39 a.m. A Bobcat Lane caller wanted to file a report for fraud because someone is using his identification to file for unemployment.

    11:28 a.m. A Hernandez caller requested a welfare check on a woman whom he said looked like she was in distress and had been in a fight. Deputies determined she was looking for a place for her cats to use the bathroom.

    1:06 p.m. A Ranchitos Park caller reported teenagers are lighting fireworks and throwing them in the pool area.

    2:49 p.m. A Medanales caller reported people in a car are shooting at them.

    4:03 p.m. A Private Drive 1027 in Alcalde caller reported she got a call from someone claiming to be with the FBI, who said her Social Security number is being used in money laundering. They advised her not to tell anyone.

    4:14 p.m. A Fairview Lane and North Railroad Avenue caller said six children are throwing fireworks at cars.

    4:52 p.m. A Rue 21 caller reported a woman appears to be rolling around on the ground, overdosing. The ODing woman told police she did more meth than normal.

    5:44 p.m. A School Street in Española caller said three people are fighting and one has a handgun. When asked for a clothing description, the caller said they are “wearing blood.”

    6:54 p.m. An Española Valley High School caller said a Dodge pickup truck is trying to run her off the road and following her.

    7:59 p.m. A Las Lomas Apartment caller said two 13-year-old boys are going to jump her 11-year-old grandson over a girl.

    9:48 p.m. A U.S. Highway 64 caller said a vehicle hit a deer and the vehicle is totaled.

    11:07 p.m. A Taco Bell caller reported a man is refusing to leave the speaker at the drive-thru. He’s hugging it and not letting customers order. He also has needles and is approaching customers in the drive-thru with the needles.

June 26

    9:24 a.m. A Corlett Road caller requested animal control help because two abandoned dogs are in bad shape. She said one has a metal rod sticking out of it and the other has a swollen leg.

    9:31 a.m. A County Road 129 in Hernandez caller said a woman hit him over the head with something.

    10:23 a.m. A Walgreens caller requested a welfare check on a man who hit her vehicle from behind. She said he appears to be intoxicated.

    1:36 p.m. An Embudo Clinic caller requested an ambulance for a dead person they found in a vehicle.

    4 p.m. A County Road 40 in Alcalde caller reported her neighbor drove through her fence and camera footage shows he tried to run over two people.

    7:29 p.m. A Tsigo Bugeh Road caller said his friend is barely breathing.

    7:49 p.m. A State Police officer reported being flagged down by a man at AutoZone who claimed his 9 mm handgun was stolen.

    8:32 p.m. An El Llano Road caller requested a welfare check on a homeless man with many shopping carts, setting up camp under the pedestrian bridge at the Chamisa Trail.
