End of season in sight as Wiscasset Speedway races chug along

WISCASSET — Another month has been crossed off the calendar, and the finish line for the 2021 stock car racing season at Wiscasset Speedway is coming into view for drivers.

On Aug. 28, Group 1 divisions hit the track. The third Ideal Enduro Series race also was held.

Josh St. Clair of Liberty took second place in the Norm’s Used Car Pro Stock 40-lap event.

In the Ideal Enduro 100-lap event there was no third-place trophy awarded due to postrace inspection violations in the initial second-, third-, and fifth-place finishers.

Group 2 drivers, along with the NEMA Lites and Midgets raced for the checkered flag on Aug. 21.

In Wood Pellet Warehouse Late Model Sportsman action, Ryan Ripley of Thomaston was able to hold off Josh St. Clair to take third in the 40-lap race. St. Clair finished fourth.

St. Clair took home a third-place finish in the Portland Glass Strictly Streets 25-lap event.
